Leghorn, Italy: September 21, 1945
For Veterans Day I’m posting this photo of my Dad and his buddies, taken on September 21, 1945. World War II was completely over by this point. Dad was 24 years old when this was taken. He’s the one standing on the right. They were in Leghorn, Italy, waiting for the troop ship that would take them home via NYC.
